Case Example: Re-Fresh Global

Re-Fresh Global is a Berlin–Israel deep-tech company that converts mainly cotton, polyester and cotton–polyester textile waste into new raw materials. Mechanical shredding is followed by enzymatic treatment, filtration and material preparation to separate cellulosic and synthetic fractions instead of treating a blend as one low-quality stream.

The process produces Re-Celloop™, a regenerated cellulosic material, and Re-SanPulp™, based on recovered synthetic fibres. Outputs may be used in fibres, nonwovens, packaging, coatings, construction or automotive applications. The case combines mechanical pre-processing with biochemical recycling and shows both textile-to-textile and cross-sector routes. Its circular value depends on input quality, yield, energy and chemical use, output performance and whether recovered material displaces virgin resources.
