1.1.3 How Does a DPP Work Throughout the Product Lifecycle?
Unlike conventional product documentation, a Digital Product Passport evolves throughout the product's life. Information is created during design and manufacturing and can be updated during distribution, use, repair, resale, refurbishment, and recycling.
This continuous flow of information creates a digital history that supports better decisions at every stage. By preserving reliable lifecycle data, DPPs help products retain value, facilitate circular business models, and improve resource recovery at the end of life.
