6.6.1 Design Brief
- Design brief 6, Measure and connect
- Task: Draft a mini impact report for one garment using an LCA-lite tool (e.g. Higg MSI or an AI-assisted footprint estimator) and map where Digital Product Passport data would feed that report, materials, origin, care, end-of-life.
- Deliverable: a one-page mini impact report + data map.
- EQF 4: use the tool template and fill it in for the garment.
- EQF 5: compare two tools and state which answers which question.
- EQF 6: design the DPP data map for a real product line (pointer: Digital Product Passports module) and justify each data field.
6.6.2 Applied Assignment
- Applied assignment (5 points)
- VET students (EQF 4, identify, describe, follow steps): Identify the main data carriers (QR code, RFID/NFC, woven ID) and describe what a Digital Product Passport contains and who uses it. Then follow the steps to draft the six most essential DPP fields for one garment, stating which actor needs each field. Deliverable: one-page DPP draft.
- HEI students (EQF 5, apply, compare, implement): Design a minimal Digital Product Passport for a specific garment: apply the needs of three actors (recycler, reseller, consumer, at least four data fields each); compare data carriers and justify one against durability and recyclability of the carrier itself; distinguish third-party-verified from self-declared fields and implement the resulting DPP mock-up. Deliverable: one-page mock-up plus max 300 words.
- Professionals (EQF 6, assess, justify, design): Assess the circularity readiness of one product line: justify a DPP data architecture (identifiers, carrier, verification strategy, blockchain vs conventional database) interoperable with GS1 standards and the expected ESPR delegated act, and design the implementation plan including one circular business model (resale, rental, repair or recycling) that the DPP would enable and its displacement logic. Deliverable: four-page implementation plan.
