- Design brief 2, From brief to 3D
- Task: Take a design brief for one garment and run it through the AI-assisted workflow of section 2.3: build a moodboard, run three prompt rounds, shortlist 3–5 concepts, then turn the strongest into a simplified 3D prototype using the image-to-3D pipeline of section 2.2.3.
- Deliverable: prompt set + shortlist + one simplified 3D prototype (screenshot accepted).
- Assessment: 5 points, differentiated by learner profile in line with the FashionKIC EQF framework.
- EQF 4 (VET, identify, describe, follow steps): Identify the three types of fashion drawings (figurino, study drawing, technical flat) and describe the function of each. Then follow the three prompt rounds of section 2.3 using the prompt bank templates: write structured prompts specifying materials and construction intent, generate a concept image, and produce a simple technical flat of it. Deliverable: prompt set, image and flat on one A4 page.
- EQF 5 (HEI, apply, compare, implement): Apply the full chapter workflow to one product: generate three AI concept variations with structured prompts, add one material and one colourway variation per concept, and compare them against material feasibility and circularity criteria. Select one and implement it both as a simplified 3D prototype (image-to-3D pipeline, section 2.2.3) and as a technical flat with construction notes ready for a tech pack. Deliverable: two A4 pages including the prototype screenshot.
- EQF 6 (Professionals, assess, justify, design): Brief a complete capsule of three garments through the workflow and critique the AI's limitations (construction, fit, manufacturability). Assess the digital design toolchain of a real studio or brand, justify a target configuration (vector tools, 3D modelling paradigm, AI tools, zero-waste pattern software) against sustainability KPIs and ESPR-readiness, and design the transition plan, including an explicit position on authorship and IP of AI-generated outputs. Deliverable: workflow specification plus risk assessment (max 3 pages).
